Engagement

Our trip to SF was super exciting. Not only did we get to see and hang out with family and friends, we also got to shoot two of them! Meet Angel and Freej. I’ve been friends with these guys since college. Let’s just say these two have been on and off for over a decade that some of us just gave up the hope of seeing them together. Finally on 8/8/08, they surprised everyone with a wedding. Ya, I was one of the many people who found out days later :)

They don’t have a decent photo of them together, so I have been hinting on an e-session forever. Finally on our trip to SF, we were able to squeeze some time for it. We strolled around downtown SF and found this abandoned building.

Angel and Freej, who call each other many cute names such as baby bubu (yes, they went there), are sooo in love that it takes very little coaching to capture sweet moments like this.

These two were totally game! It helps that we’re friends and we’ve seen each other in more embarrassing moments so having to make out in front of me sure was a piece of cake :)

See what I mean?

You can’t tell from this photo, but there was a weirdo guy following us around at this time. Haha!

I love the perspective on this one.

This photo is part of a series where these two were poking fun and having a good time. I like this one the best.

Can you tell I love this door so much?

Rooowwr!

They were so comfy with the shoot that it almost felt like they were just hanging out at home.

After a while, we headed down to Pier 39 for some more photos and sight-seeing.

Oh so warm and cuddly!

You know it ain’t SF without the cable car!

I love detail shots like this! Another favorite.

This is sooo like them; definitely tops the list in my book!

Angel and Freej, it was great to see you guys again after all these years! I am sooo happy you finally gave in and got married. I had a feeling your saga would have a happy ending. :)

Thanks also for treating us with the oh-so-delicious clam chowder! Our trip to the Bay Area would not be complete without it. Love to you both!

Personal

Just a reminder that we’re out for a whole week starting this weekend, so if you’re a client, please hold off on ordering products/prints from your online gallery until we get back on the 27th. Although we can set the shopping cart to automatically process orders, we prefer to manually approve each crop before they are sent out. For your benefit, of course :)

And even though our trip is mainly for vacation, we’d looove to do some sessions. If you are, or anyone you know is interested in booking us, please contact us soon!

Anyhoo… I leave you for now with a self-portrait I took a couple of months ago, in Catalina Island. ;)

Peace!

Just Cause

Last weekend, my husband and I joined Estrella and her husband Arnel in celebrating her 50th birthday party at the Millenium Biltmore Hotel in downtown Los Angeles. It was a huge bash in one of LA’s historic hotels, and we’re honored to have been chosen to photograph the event.

Here are some of my favorites…

The entrance to the Emerald Ballroom. Notice the mounted print from our portrait session :)

Another view of the entrance

The interior was beautiful!

Some details… I love the French theme, check out that centerpiece!

There were tons of laughter :)

Especially during the first dance

They stopped halfway through saying they needed more practice :)

There was also a whole bunch of entertainment, from ballroom dancers…

… to belly dancers!

The cake was absolutely beautiful, with mini candles surrounding the entire cake table!

Here’s the birthday girl blowing all her candles

Some speech

And of course, some disco dancing to end the night

Happy birthday! Thanks for having us over.
