Family, Kids

When we book our portrait sessions, we usually schedule weeks, sometimes months, in advance. Especially when working with a family of four or more; synching schedules can be tough.

When Hope contacted me the first time, she wanted to know if we could accommodate her for that Sunday, which was in less than a week. It was important to her to get the portraits done right away; and she wanted it done on that weekend. Amazingly enough, I was totally free that day so we went right down to business. For our session, she opted for a casual park setting, and they were dressed perfectly for it! Here are some of my faves…

Braun turns 1 soon, and so Hope wanted to get a whole bunch of photos of him. How could I say no to this little bundle of cuteness?

I thought Hope and Tony did not look like they have a daughter in high school. :)

Here’s one of the team. Their daughter Achaia is tall, huh!

I love this photo of their kids!

I was actually photographing Blaze’s little brother Braun, and when I turned I saw him up on this tree. I thought he looked cute with that branch.

More Braun cuteness. He is such a happy baby, isn’t he?

I love how Achaia is such a caring big sis

Isn’t she just stunning?

Hope wasn’t too sure about getting romance shots of just her and Tony, but I insisted! Ah, I’m glad she let me do this.

And of course, we can’t forget their 4th baby, Stone

This is clearly one of the front runners among my favorites!

When we were going to do some father-son shots, I asked if Tony could put Blaze up on his shoulder. Such a silly question as Tony’s a big guy! Anyways, I thought this worked out great.

Another one of the family

This, hands down, is my top pick from the whole session. I thought Hope looked sizzling in this one!

Hope, Tony, Achaia, Blaze, Braun and of course Stone… thank you so very much for spending the afternoon with me. I had a wonderful time meeting you all. :)

Family, Kids

When I first spoke with Hope, she told me on the phone that she wanted some quick photos of the family: sort of “get in, do your thing, get out”. I had to convince her to allow me to utilize the time allotted for their session to make sure I’m able to get as much photos in. I am so glad she trusted my judgement on this. And so now, I have too much to choose from! :) Here’s one photo of their children (I really shouldn’t use the term kids, as their oldest is sixteen!). More will be blogged soon.

Family, Kids

I just adore this family! I met Krista, Jeff and Olivia the day of our shoot (as is the case with most of our clients). When they arrived at the venue, Olivia had fallen asleep in the car. I was worried that if we woke her up, she’d have tantrums like most toddlers. Instead, she took a minute to get used to her surroundings and was ready to go like a true champ :) She had the bluest, brightest eyes I had ever seen, I’m sure you will agree.

Krista and I talked about wardrobe stuff before our shoot, and I thought she picked the cutest rain gear for Olivia!

I also love this knit hat on her!

We actually did not have a specific spot picked. We sort of just jumped from one location to another. I thought it worked out quite well :)

I was literally rolling around the grass to get her to flash me a cute smile, I’m surprised this came out sharp at all!

This time, it was Jeff pretending to eat a shoe. As you can see, Olivia looooved it.

One of my favorites

It was nearly impossible to get some alone pictures of mom and dad when you have a toddler with you. For this shot, Jeff would tell Olivia to go get her boots. When she gets closer into the shot, Jeff would then tell her to go get the plant. Result: No Olivia in the shot. LOL! Jeff, you are too smart!

She is soooo adorable, isn’t she?

I love how this worked out

Here’s one of the team!

This fence was just across the street from the brick walls where we photographed Krista and Jeff. I love how we found little spots here and there :)

This session wouldn’t be complete without the greens!

I took this as she tried so desperately to open this locked door. I thought it was cute.

You know what she had in her hands? Candy :) Krista and Jeff don’t usually give her anything too sweet or stuff with artificial sweeteners, so when she finally got candies, she held on to them until the end of the shoot.

The rain gear series is my favorite in the entire session! Olivia totally rocked the outfit ;)

Krista, Jeff and Olivia… Thank you so much for trusting our vision. You guys were fabulous!
