Engagement

I’m so happy to finally be photographing these two! When Trina first expressed her interest in having their photos taken, it’s almost been a year now. After four other friends of theirs had booked us, it’s finally their turn. I’m so glad they agreed to meet in Orange. I’ve always wanted to shoot there but never got the chance.

The day we had the shoot, I had just gotten new lighting equipment in the mail, and I was so stoked to be using those for this session!

We spotted this car as we walked in the area. I thought this was hooottt!

As expected, this location in Downtown Orange had tons of texture, pretty brick walls, and greens…

Every time I had Ron whisper sweet nothings to Katrina’s ear, she bursts out laughing. LOL!

We shot this late in the afternoon and it was still a bit bright in this alley, but this door light being lit this early sparked an idea. I thought it looked kinda cool ;)

Another angle

I liked the door, so we shot a few more with it

You know I have to get some of the footwear!

I think I might be addicted to strobes now

See? I told you so!

Going back to making use of ambient light

And one last to end the night

Trina and Ron, thank you so very much for coming out to spend the afternoon with me and for being such great sport in letting me order you around for an hour ;)

Engagement

Trina’s a friend of a friend, so I guess you can say we’re friends now too ;) She contacted our studio a while back for a do-over of their engagement session, which they did at a beach. They are married now and want to try the urban setting she’s seen on our blog. Fast forward to almost 10 months later, we finally have the chance to get together for a shoot. I’m still in the process of going over the photos to blog, but here’s one I really like! This was shot very late in the afternoon with a single strobe to my left. More to come soon! ;)
